Erik: Yo Jimmy.
Jimmy: [laughs] Yo!
Erik: I was just surveying some of the kids I know who are serious about taking photos. I wanted to ask you, "Why?"
Jimmy: I mean, for the longest time I wanted to take pictures for people's cars, because I would look through magazines and be like, "These pictures are crazy!" Then I got into it and found out more about photography and how you can make the simplest things art. Everything around you can be photographed into art. I saw many photos that were taken, and the things you wouldn't ever expect inspired me. Photography is like a second pair of eyes, if that makes sense. [laughs]
Erik: Nah that's good man. So it all started with some import magazines?
Jimmy: [laughs] Weird huh?
Erik: Aight, another question?
Jimmy: Cool.
Erik: If you can remember it, what was the first picture you can remember taking that you were proud of?
Jimmy: [pause] Dang. That's a good one. I'm proud with all the shots, but I look back and I don't like my first shot at all. [laughs] I progressed in how I took pictures. I mean, I would say it'd be this picture I have of five candles in a row. It's focused on the first one and it kept getting blurrier as it goes to the next and the next. It had a sepia tone.
Erik: Is that on your Flickr? They weren't lit, were they?
Jimmy: Yeah it's on Flickr.
Erik: I remember seeing that. Anyway, thanks for answering. Don't be surprised if it ends up on my blog sometime.
Jimmy: Yeah dude! Thanks for interviewing!

This is Jimmy's Flickr if you'd like to see his other work.
