A few weeks ago, I was in DC with my boy Connor. We were walking around Chinatown, doing our thing, taking pictures, when some guy rocking a Stüssy Varsity and a backpack decked in ALIFE tags stopped us on the sidewalk. "Do you do a blog?" was the first thing he said to us. Anyone who takes the time to keep up with street culture or fashion knows how easy it is to spot another streetwear head on the street. You'll also know about the instant mutual respect formed once you've both determined the legitimacy of your common interest in the culture. For example, dude had spied my Crooks beanie and Connor's Nikes and decided to give a shout. We introduced ourselves, talked for a bit, and I told him he was in fact correct in assuming I did a blog. He was a local college student and when we told him we were from out of town he offered to show us a bit around the more lifestyle-oriented parts of DC (Commonwealth, Greater Good, etc). Unfortunately, we were already late for lunch. Though we had to decline his offer, he did show us how to get to the pizza place we were looking for. To dude: If you ever got around to finding my blog, thanks for your help.
